Community Outreach

Each year, we offer performances for local community events and to area schools in the form of lecture-demonstrations. The Dance Association's affiliate performing companies — Bloomington Ballet and Contemporary Dance Theatre — each perform one or two of their pieces along with some explanation and discussion of dance and choreography. Our intent is to encourage the appreciation and understanding of dance as an art form and to introduce the many different forms of dance including ballet, modern, jazz, and hip-hop.
