Gale Keeran Memorial Scholarship
Gale Keeran was a founding member and performer with the McLean County Dance Association. She was a participant in and advocate for the arts all her life. Gale died in 2001, and to honor her memory, the McLean County Dance Association established the Gale Keeran Memorial Scholarship.
Past recipients include:
- 2011: Anna Fritz, a high school student continuing her training with McLean County Dance.
- 2010: Marah Bates, a high school student continuing her training with McLean County Dance.
- 2009: Sophia Bellotti, now attending North Central College majoring in Elementary Education, minoring in Dance.
- 2008: Elizabeth Lindenmeier, now attending Webster University majoring in Dance.
- 2007: Christina Parlette, now attending Augustana College majoring in Biology/Pre-Physical Therapy.
- 2006: Cassie Hanson, now attending the University of Iowa majoring in nursing.
- 2005: Grace Barlow, a 2011 graduate of SMU, now studying at Washington University to receive her MA in Teaching in Social Science.
- 2004: Aya Wilson, 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa, now pursuing a dance career.
- 2003: Lindsey Miller, a 2009 graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Dance Performance, now pursuing a dance career.
- 2002: Anna Adams Stark, a 2008 graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Dance, now pursuing a dance career.
